Attendance and Participation Attendance and Participation Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation grade will be determined. All students are expected to participate in class! This also includes coming to me for extra help, giving other students feedback in class, adhering to the no-phone rule, consistent attendance, and being able to answer in-class dialogue from both the teacher and other students. Class Participation
	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor or no points 1 pts
ATTENDANCE/PUNCTUALITY	Excellent Student is on time regularly or early for class.	Good Student is usually on time or early (one or two tardies).	Fair Student is sometimes on time (three or four tardies).	Poor Student is often late, four or more times. Zero points for 5+ tardies.
PREPARATION	Excellent Student is always prepared for class with assignments and required materials punctually.	Good Student is usually prepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.	Fair Student is frequently unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.	Poor Student is almost always unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR	Excellent Student often asks questions, participates in pair/group discussions.	Good Student sometimes asks questions, and participates in pair/group discussions.	Fair Student rarely participates in class, struggles with pair/group discussions.	Poor Student never participates in class, does not participate in pair/group discussions.
