Tattoo or Body Art Design Tattoo or Body Art Design Students are given a homework assignment where they are to create one drawing in any of the tattoo “styles” for each of the following 5 themes: Celtic, symbols, floral, wildlife and fantasy after doing some image research (find reference pictures). Symbolism	Exceeds Symbolism is interesting, thoroughly researched and used well; symbols make sense in relation to the student's criteria.	Meets Symbolism is present and researched; symbols make sense given the criteria from the student.	Partially Meets Symbols are present; mostly fit the criteria given by the student with some deficiencies - i.e incorrect color or design.	Does not Meet Symbolism is difficult to understand, or do not fit the criteria with significant deficiencies.
Craftsmanship	Exceeds Drawing and coloring or value shows exceptional evidence of neatness, care and knowledge of chosen material.	Meets Drawing and coloring or value shows evidence of neatness, care and knowledge of chosen material.	Partially Meets Drawing and coloring or value shows little evidence of neatness, care or knowledge of chosen material.	Does not Meet Drawing and coloring or value shows no evidence of neatness and care. Drawing is smudged, wrinkled, torn, etc.
Creativity	Exceeds Drawing goes beyond requirements and criteria; design is visually interesting and unique and appears of a quality that a real person might put on their body.	Meets Drawing meets requirements in use of criteria; design decisions are interesting.	Partially Meets Drawing partially meets requirements; design decisions are interesting with some questionable or obvious problems - i.e composition problems, element placement issues, etc.	Does not Meet Drawing does not meet requirements; design is predictable or contains significant issues regarding composition and/or element placement.
Time Management	Exceeds Routinely uses time well throughout the project to ensure things get done on time.	Meets Usually uses time well throughout the project, but may have procrastinated a bit.	Partially Meets Tend to procrastinate, but always gets things done by the deadlines.	Does not Meet Rarely get things done by the deadlines.
