Body position and movement	Advanced Body is nearly horizontal in water. Body is streamline.	Proficient 15 degrees from surface. Body is less streamline	Fair 30 degrees horizontal from surface. Body is even less streamline	Need Improvement Body position nearly vertical. Little forward motion.
Arms	Advanced Arms extended fully in coordination with body roll. Full extension of the arms at finish.	Proficient Arms nearly to full extension. Bent pull coordination.	Fair Hands enter at head. Minimal power in the pulling phase.	Need Improvement Arms slapping the water with fingers spread open. Ineffective power, arms pull short.
Kick	Advanced Minimal splashing. Maintain feet below surface. Kick always starts from hip. Rhythmic kicking.	Proficient Moderate splashing with feet below surface. Lower body not rigid.
