Westward Expansion Building Project Westward Expansion Building Project Students must build a "farm" on their plot of land they were given from the Oregon Claims Act. The structure can be no bigger than a 11X15 base and include vital elements to living on a farm. Must include a works cited and a 1 page paper giving a detailed description of all elements of the farm. Creativity	Poor Not creative. No colors, effects, or minimal coloring on their idea.	Fair Some coloring and effects, creative, does not use all material to make it complete to their idea.	Good Good creativity. Uses material very well and has great ideas.	Very Well Very creative. Uses coloring, effects and other materials well with their ideas!
Realism	Poor Not realistic to what we have learned.	Fair Realistic but missing a few things.	Good Realistic, contains all things that were asked to be on their land. Ex. Dwelling, crops, animals and water source.	Very Well Very realistic and contains all items needed, and a few extra things were added.
Materials	Poor Only uses materials given and nothing else.	Fair Uses materials given well.	Good Uses materials given with a few things added to it.	Very Well Uses materials given properly, and brings in other sources for example- grass, sticks, leaves, flowers, plastic animals, etc.
Presentation	Poor okay presentation, does not have their presentation together and cannot answer many questions.	Fair Good presentation, does not have everything together and can answer some questions.	Good Presents well and is able to explain what is on their land plot and answer most questions.	Very Well Presents well, has everything ready and laid out. Able to explain what everything is, and why they have that on their land.
Neatness	Poor Looks thrown together, cannot tell that there was time spent on the project.	Fair Neat, can tell that there was time spent on the project.	Good Neat, can tell there was time spent on the project and you can tell where everything is laid out.	Very Well Very Neat and put together. Can tell where everything is placed, and also can tell that a lot of time was spent on it.
