Directions	Sophisticated, controlled & on targ Introduces the topic, Develops a clear, assertive question	On target, competent Addresses topic and develops a clear but less sophisticated and less developed	Doesn't meet all criteria Doesn't encapsulate all the aspects of the prompt. The directions are not well-organized.	Off Target Does not create clear directions.
Sources	Sophisticated, controlled & on targ Uses at least six , varied types of sources with skill and consciousness of more than one point of view.	On target, competent Uses 6 sources with less awareness but does the job clearly. Perhaps focuses only on one side of the argument or in a less well-developed way.
