Run D-MC Poetry Project Poetry Project Students will choose a specific topic to write a poem about. The students will go through the writing process (prewriting, drafting, editing, revising and publishing) to create a poem that contains a minimum of 3 stanzas with 4 lines in each stanza. The student will type their poem and paste it onto a piece of construction paper. On the border around the poem, the student will create symbols that represent their poem. Outline - Chart	Incomplete Not all categories have been completed.	Satisfactory 50% or more of the categories have been completed with a minimum of 2 examples per category.	Good Each category has been completed with a minimum of 3 examples per category.	Excellent Each category has been completed with a minimum of 5 examples per category.
Stanzas	Incomplete The poem does not contain discernible stanzas.	Satisfactory The poem contains 2-3 stanzas with 4 lines each.	Good The poem contains 4 stanzas with 4 lines each.	Excellent The poem contains 5 or more stanzas with 4 lines each.
Rhyme Scheme	Incomplete There is no rhyme scheme.	Satisfactory The rhyme scheme is not consistent throughout the poem.	Good There is a consistent rhyme scheme in majority of the poem.	Excellent There is a rhyme scheme through out the entirety of the poem.
Literary Teachniques	Incomplete There are no examples of literary technique in the poem.	Satisfactory There are 2 - 3 examples of literary techniques in the poem.	Good There are 4-6 examples of literary techniques in the poem.	Excellent There are 7 or more examples of literary techniques in the poem.
Editing	Incomplete There were no drafts made prior to the completion of the poem.	Satisfactory Students completed at least one chart (rough draft or graphic organizer) before the completion of the poem.	Good Students completed both the rough draft and graphic organizer before the completion of the poem.	Excellent Students completed two rough drafts and a graphic organizer before the completion of the poem.
