Thesis Creation Thesis is subjective, debateable, and supportable. Audience and purpose have been considered here as well	Poor Student has not identifed the audience /provided context, and has not constructed a clear thesis or central argument.	Fair Student has identified the audience / provided some context and has suggested the central argument, but has not convinced the reader of the purpose.	Good Student has identified the audience / provided ample context and has stated the central argument by giving a thesis with support.	Excellent Student has clearly identified the audience / given engaging context, and has clearly stated the central argument. Writer's purpose is clear to the reader.

Excellent quote/paraphrase technique is on display	Excellent Student demonstrates excellent style and mature prose. Excellent variation in sentence structure and a firm grasp of appropriate grammatical/ usage/ mechanical errors. Excellent use of literary present, reporting expressions, and quote incorporation.
