Introduction to Subtraction Introduction to Subtraction The purpose of this rubric is to assess how much the students have learned about subtraction. The students are given three subtraction problems. For each problem, students are instructed to draw out the number of frogs that there are to begin with on the log, cross out the number that are taken away, and write the answer they get on the blank line. Problem # 1	Poor Both answers, the number of frogs drawn and the answer written on the line, are incorrect.	Fair The student draws and crosses out the correct number of frogs, but the correct answer is not written on the line, or vice versa.	Good The student draws the correct number of frogs on the log, crosses out the correct number of frogs that are being subtracted, and writes the correct answer on the line.
