Roller Coaster Rubric Roller Coaster Rubric Student is tasked to explain the safety requirements of Roller Coasters in the U.S. You will have to design a roller coaster that has a theme and make a scale working model of your design minimum size 20X25 in. A 1 page paper is required desribing your understanding of energy and how it relates to your roller coaster. Roller Coaster Rubric
	Poor 10 pts	Fair 20 pts	Good 30 pts	Excellent 40 pts
Theme	Poor No real theme. Messy, dirty, and uninspired.	Fair Decent theme but hard to determine. Not very well done. Incomplete. Not very neat, or creative.	Good Had a good theme that was visible. Creative. Neat and clean.	Excellent Has a cohesive and visible theme. Well thought out. Theme is integrated into the coaster. Neat, clean, and creative. Above and beyond!!
Obsticles	Poor Had 1 obstacle. Loops, inverted turns, hills, dips, etc. Most obstacles were successful.	Fair Had 2 obstacles. Loops, inverted turns, hills, dips, etc. Most obstacles were successful.	Good Had 3 obstacles. Loops, inverted turns, hills, dips, etc. All obstacles were successful.	Excellent Had more then 3 obstacles. Loops, inverted turns, hills, dips, etc. All obstacles were successful.
Roller Coaster	Poor Under the minimum size requirement. Marble was unable to travel through the whole coaster.	Fair Under minimum size requirment. Marble had difficulty traveling through the whole coaster.	Good Met minimum size requirement. Marble traveled through coaster successfully 90% of the time. Somewhat creative use of obsticles.	Excellent Is a minimum of 20x25 in. Marble is able to travel throughout the whole coaster without stopping or falling. Creative use of obsticles.
Paper	Poor 1 paragraph or less. Did not explain what they learned or how they created their coaster.	Fair 2-3 paragraphs (less then full page) Missing one or two of the key components asked to be discussed in the paper. Not typed. Multiple spelling mistakes.	Good 3-4 paragraphs (less then full page) Discussed the process of building the roller coaster and how the group worked together. Also what they learned while working on the project. Not typed. Some spelling mistakes.	Excellent Over 1 page. Answers all questions. Explained the process of how you built your coaster and how your group worked together. Also what you learned while working on the project.Typed. No spelling mistakes.
