Explication du Poem, Ce merveilleux mot AmitiƩ
Paired group will explain a chapter from Le Petit Prince, by coming up with a simplified dialogue that explicates the central theme of the chapter. Students will also create a Google Slide that has a background that highlights the topic of their chapter.

There was no mention of complementing words. Students didn't tie anything back to the overall theme of chapter.

Group attempted to draw out a couple complementing words, but did not explain how they work into the chapter.

Group brought out a few words, and showed a fairly good connection between of those words to the chapter's overall meaning (theme).

Group brought out several complementing words from their assigned stanza, and did an excellent job explaining how they fit into the overall theme of their chapter. Great job!

Dialogue was very weak, and did very little to help explicate the chapter's theme and meaning.

An attempt was made at creating a simple dialogue that was easy to follow, but the audience was left a bit confused at times.

Group did a decent job creating a dialogue that their audience could follow, with only a couple of instances where there was a strain on comprehension.
Excellent
Very good to excellent job creating a complementing dialogue that easily allowed the audience to follow along. Really drew in audience, as their were very few instances, if any, that made it difficult to understand the recurring them. Excellent!

Group has not made any comments about their chapter's theme and seems not to have thought about bringing it up.

Group has identified the theme that helps to bring overall meaning to their chapter, but had difficulty talking about it in more depth.

Group has identified theme that help to bring overall meaning to their chapter, and have done so with only a couple of problems. Audience can follow without much struggle.
Excellent
Group has done an excellent job defining the theme (subject) of their chapter of with little to no strain of interpretation from their audience. Excellent effort put into making the audience understand what they author is telling us.
Pronunciation
Insufficient
Very little attempt, if any, was made to have a good enough accent so that the audience could follow what was being said. Poorly done.
Poor
An attempt was made to try to pronounce some words correctly, but there was a lot of strain on the audience to follow with clarity.
Satisfactory
A fairly good attempt was made to have a decent accent, and there only a couple of moments where there was a strain on interpretation, on the part of the listener. Good attempt.
Excellent
Excellent effort to have a good accent! Absolutely no strain on interpretation on the part of the listener. A couple of mispronounced words, but did not affect overall understanding. Job well done!
