Required work is incomplete and inaccurate.
Experiment Set-Up
Excellent:
The student correctly set-up the experiment and can explain the purpose of the experiment, along with what they are testing.
Good:
The student correctly set-up the experiment, but cannot fully explain the purpose of the experiment or does not completely understand what they are testing.
Fair:
The student has partially set-up the experiment correctly, cannot fully explain the purpose of the experiment, and does not understand what they are testing.
Poor:
The student didn't set-up the experiment correctly, doesn't understand the purpose of the experiment or what they are testing during the experiment.
Experiment Performance
Excellent:
The student correctly performed the experiment and was able to fully explain why things happened during the experiment.
Good:
The student correctly performed the experiment, but did not understand why things were happening during the experiment.
Fair:
The student had the experiment set-up partially correct and did not completely understand why things were happening during the experiment.
Poor:
The student was not able to set-up the experiment correctly and could did not understand why things happened during the experiment.
Conclusions
Excellent:
Clear and concise conclusions are given. Conclusion addresses problem and states knowledge gained.
Good:
Conclusions are present and complete, knowledge gained is present, but not clear and concise.
Fair:
Missing some parts of conclusion or knowledge gained.
Poor:
Missing conclusion completely, or it is inaccurate.
