Art Portfolio Art Portfolio A grading scale used to evaluate a student's compilation of best works in art production, creativity, abililty, and effort in work. Rubric Code: WXAABXW By khowlett Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Arts and Design Type: Assignment Grade Levels: 6-8, 9-12

Art Portfolio Cumulative examples of all work.
	Level 4 Exemplary work at highest level of ability. 4 pts	Level 3 Good work, meets all criteria. 3 pts	Level 2 Adequate work, lacking in some areas 2 pts	Level 1 Unsatisfactory, work is inadequate and of poor quality. 1 pts
Content 4 pts Based on portfolio required items.	Level 4 All projects are included. (Student may have included projects from art electives classes.)	Level 3 Missing one project from portfolio.	Level 2 Missing two projects from portfolio.	Level 1 Missing three or more projects.
Artist Statement 0 pts Written statement about the artist and work. For AP ONLY.	Level 4 Portfolio includes a well written and thoughtful artist statement.	Level 3 Portfolio includes a thoughtful artist statement.	Level 2 Portfolio includes an artist statement.	Level 1 Portfolio does not include an artist statement.
Presentation 4 pts Neat and creative presentation	Level 4 Portfolio shows ingenuity and creativity. Care was taken when presenting work. Art pieces are cropped and /or matted neatly.	Level 3 Portfolio shows some imagination and creativity. Care was taken when presenting work. Art pieces need cropping/matting but are of high quality.	Level 2 Portfolio shows little imagination or creativity. Some care was taken when presenting work.	Level 1 Portfolio is lacking creativity. Poor quality and presentation used in portfolio.
Use of time and effort 4 pts Amount of time and effort expended on the portfolio	Level 4 Exemplary effort to complete the portfolio to best of ability. Made excellent use of class time.	Level 3 Good effort to complete required elements of portfolio. Adequate use of class time.	Level 2 Minimal effort used to create portfolio. Class time was not used well.	Level 1 Little or no effort to create portfolio. Poor use of class time.
Growth 4 pts Based on the planning put into the pieces of work as well as teh growth from the early pieces to the final product.	Level 4 There is excellent growth seen from the early pieces to the final product.	Level 3 There is a significant amount of growth from the early pieces to the finshed product.	Level 2 Some growth seen between pieces of work.	Level 1 Little or no growth apparent.
