Content and Insight	Poor Your response was not relevant and did not connect with the content	Fair You have made some effort. Try harder to find the relevant details that could lead you to overall conclusions.	Good Your writing is clear and thoughtful. Relevant detail is there but deeper connections and broad inferences are not fully drawn.	Excellent You have chosen the most important details and thoughtfully connected them to deeper meanings and drawn valid inferences
Fluency/Style	Poor Your response was disjunct, making it hard to understand.	Fair There was some fluency in your writing, but ideas did not always follow logically and in a clear narrative voice.	Good Your writing showed a good sense of flow and the narrative was strong. Still, I wished for a stronger sense of logical progression from one point to the next, reaching toward a central point or inference.	Excellent Every sentence moves logically toward the next, your thoughts fully developed and expressed. Your response was compelling.
