U.S. History Group/Individual Presentation Project 
This rubric is for a U.S. History research project based on major historical events or person in United States History from Reconstruction to Modern Day (2013). Students work in groups or as individuals. Students in groups will be responsible for individual contributions to the final work product.

Group Presentation

The Group Presentation is in the form of a presentation that displays individual research of each group member (individual) combined into one final project, including research for each individual role that the group was assigned.

Excellent

Presentation meets or exceeds all of the presentation expectations.
Good

Presentation includes images with properly cited information, clearly presented the the historical context, and explained the images in a thorough manner.
Fair

Presentation includes images with factual information, and presented a somewhat satisfactory understanding of the historical context.
Poor

Presentation includes images, some citations, and a short paragraph with historical context. Not all roles are included in presentation.
Unacceptable

Presentation includes images presented without either citation or historical context.
Oral Presentation

Presentation is delivered in a clear, audible manner and presenters answer any questions satisfactorily.

Excellent

Presenters meet or exceed all of the presentation criteria.
Good

Presenters meet most of the presentation criteria, with limited answers to questions and had a good understanding of the content of their presentation.
Fair

Presenters not able to clearly present their material but are able to answer most questions competently and had a basic understanding of the content of their presentation.
Poor

Presenters are unable to clearly present information and have incomplete answers to questions and had limited understanding of the content of their presentation.
Unacceptable

Presenters unable to meet presentation criteria and fail to respond to questions and had no understanding of the content of their presentation.
Note Sheet/Graphic Organizer

The presenting group has provided either a note sheet or graphic organizer on their historical person/event to be posted in the classroom to provide students with information about the project that can be used as a reference point.

Excellent

Presenters provided an in-depth note sheet or graphic organizer that gave detailed information about their historical event and role and provided space for student notes.
Good

Presenters provided a note sheet or graphic organizer that gave limited information about their role and provided some space for student notes.
Fair

Presenters provided a note sheet or graphic organizer that gave basic information about their history event and role providing little space for student notes.
Poor

Presenters provided a note sheet or graphic organizer that gave incomplete information about their roles relating to historical event. Providing little to no space for student notes.
Unacceptable

Presenters provided a note sheet or graphic organizer that gave no information about their role and realtion to historical event. providing no space for student notes.
Individual reasearch

Research completed by each individual student showing actual facts of event, how it relates to their assigned role, how their roles life would be effected today. Individual reasearch should show critical thinking.

Excellent

Indvidual includes all information pertaining to their role. Displays in notes or graphic organizer that they have completed research as well as critical thinking. Having their outcome relate to the given history event
Good

Student has done research, provided notes, has given an outcome that relates to historical event.
Fair

Student has completed history research, has related it to the historical event.
Poor

Student has completed graphic organizer that does has incomplete information about the history event relating to their role.
Unacceptable

Student has not completed research but has given critical thought or opinion as to how they think history relevant to their topic has changed history today.
