Ciceronean Speech
Students will deliver a speech in the style of Cicero's orations. The speech must be delivered in a convincing, spirited manner, in line with the delivery of our model, Cicero.

The orator presents a persuasive voice which engages the audience. He or she demonstrates commitment to their topic and for the most part, their work is expressive, engaging, or sincere.
Satis benē
The orator's commitment to persuasion seems inconsistent and the audience is inconsistently engaged. He or she demonstrates some commitment to their topic, however at times their work is inexpressive, unengaging, or insincere.
Malē
The orator's speech lacks persuasive and engaging elements. He or she appears uncommitted to their topic, and their work is largely inexpressive, unengaging, or insincere.

The orator's focus is consistent and pertinent to their subject. He or she performs the role of Cicero expertly throughout and the audience is effectively persuaded.

The orator's focus is inconsistent and/or not always pertinent to their subject. He or she performs the role of Cicero well, but at times falters; the audience is not fully persuaded.
