Class Participation Self-Assessment Class Participation Self-Assessment Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation will be evaluated. All students are expected to participate 100% in class! Students should understand that their participation mark begins at 1 and then is built up through active participation. While this is a self-assessment, I may raise or lower points based upon classroom observation. PREPARATION	Always In the same week, student is always on time and brings all required materials (dance shoes, ballet skirt, proper tights, wears acceptable bra)	Most of the Time In the same week, student is late to class once and/or occasionally forgets required materials.	Sometimes In the same week, student is late to class twice and/or often forgets required materials	Never In the same week, student is late to class three or more times and/or forgets required materials
ENGAGEMENT	Always Student always meets engagement expectations throughout the entire week of dance classes.	Most of the Time Student does not meet engagement expectations in one of the areas one time during the week of dance classes.	Sometimes Student does not meet engagement expectations either twice in the same week or in two of the areas during the same week of dance classes.	Never Student does not meet engagement expectations either three or more times in the same week or in three or more of the areas during the same week of dance classes.
ATTITUDE	Always Student always presents a positive attitude towards the classes, his/her fellow students, and his/her instructor.	Most of the Time Student usually presents a positive attitude towards the classes, his/her fellow students, and his/her instructor.	Sometimes Student sometimes presents a positive attitude towards the classes, his/her fellow students, and his/her instructor.
