Length of Poem	Poor Fewer than two lines.	Satisfactory Three to four lines.	Excellent Five or more lines.
Theme	Poor The theme is not developed and the poem is confusing or unclear.	Satisfactory The poem mostly develops a theme. Most of the ideas and lines are comprehensible.	Excellent The poem effectively develops a theme and consistently maintains coherence and form.
Artistic Expression	Poor Did not express feeling and emotion. Poem was more like prose than poetry - no line breaks, lines were more like sentences.	Satisfactory Expressed some feeling and emotion. Used some descriptive words and line breaks to change prose into poetry.	Excellent Expressed feeling and emotion. Used descriptive words and line breaks to change prose into poetry.
Title	Poor Poem does not have a title.	Satisfactory Poem has a title however, title does not fit the poem.	Excellent Poem has a title that suits the poem.
Design	Poor The page is blank or the design is not art deco.	Satisfactory Art deco is evident, but incomplete.	Excellent Art Deco is evident, complete, neat, and adds interest to the poem.
