Speaker does not use any resources to support the information given. If resource is used it is not valid or viable.

Speaker uses the minimum of two, scholarly sources in the speech. Speaker states the sources in the speech.
Good

Speaker uses more than two, scholarly sources in the speech. Speaker states the sources in the speech.
Uses proper speech etiquette

Poor

Speaker does not make eye contact with the audience. Speaker does not speak loudly or clearly. Speaker does not have a commanding presence.
Fair

Speaker makes minimal eye contact with the audience. Speaker is loud, but not clear. Speaker is clear, but not loud. Speaker is commanding some of the time.

Speaker makes eye contact through-out the speech, and addresses all areas of the room. Speaker is loud and clear. Speaker is confident and commands the room when speaking.

Speaker does not seem to know why they are speaking. The audience is not made aware of the occasion over which the speech is being presented.

Speaker is knowledgeable about their purpose, but seems to get off topic. The audience is made aware of the occasion over which the speech is being presented.
Good

Speaker is knowledgeable about their purpose, and appears to have a personal connection with the occasion chosen. The audience is aware of the occasion chosen.
