1. Knock on Door.

2. Identifies self to resident/patient.

3. Addresses resident/patient by name (Mr. Miss, Mrs., Ms. & Last Name).

4. Asks permission to wash hands if in residents apartment.

5. Explains procedure and asks permission to perform procedure.

6. Obtains supplies.

7. Provides for privacy.

Washes hands in sink/uses sanitation gel.

After ambulation, assists client with comfort.

Assures safety of position and removes transfer belt, if used.

Places signaling device within client’s reach.

Leaves bed in low position.

Washes hands or uses sanitation gel.

Thanks patient.
