Excellent
The student provided the correct hypotheses with proper notation. They also included an appropriate description of the parameter.
Test Statistic
Poor
Student is unable to determine the appropriate test statistic to be used and is therefore unable to calculate the correct value of the test statistic.
Fair
The student knows which test statistic is appropriate for the problem but does not provide any evidence of finding the correct value of the test statistic.
Good
The student knows which test statistic is appropriate for the problem and attempts to find the correct value of the test statistic with minor errors.
Excellent
The students knows which test statistic is appropriate for the problem and finds the correct value of the test statistic.
p-value or critical value
Poor
The student does not attempt to provide a p-value or critical value or they attempt to find the p-value or critical value for the problem but has a major error in their work providing an incorrect value.
Fair
The student attempts to find the p-value or critical value for the problem but has a minor error in their work and thus provides an incorrect value.
Good
Excellent
The student identifies the correct p-value or critical value for the problem.
Decision and Conclusion
Poor
The criteria for fair, good or excellent are not met.
Fair
A correct decision about the null hypothesis is made given the p-value or CV found and only two of the following is missing:
* The student states that there is evidence for a claim.
* The student states their conclusion in terms of the alternate hypothesis.
* The student state their conclusion in the context of the problem.
OR
An incorrect decision about the null hypothesis is made given the p-value or CV found and only one of the conclusion pie
Good
A correct decision about the null hypothesis is made, given the p-value or CV found and only one of the following is missing:
* The student states that there is evidence for a claim.
* The student states their conclusion in terms of the alternate hypothesis.
* The student state their conclusion in the context of the problem.
OR
An incorrect decision about the null hypothesis is made given the p-value or CV found and all three of the conclusion p
