Partially Meets Expectations

The graphics and text used are based on the designs or ideas of others and don't demonstrate original ideas. There is evidence of copying ideas. Less than half of the borrowed images are cited.
Does Not Meet Expectations

Graphics and text do not demonstrate any original thought or creativity. Student copied most of his/her ideas or images and did not provide any citations.
Clarity

How clear the overall design is related to project goals.

Exceeds Expectations

Graphics are used effectively and have strong impact on the total design. Project goals are clearly demonstrated.
Meets Expectations

Most graphics are used and generally have an impact on the message of the design. Most of the project goals are demonstrated.
Partially Meets Expectations

Graphics are mostly focused on the message of the project, but could have been used more effectively by virtue of size, location, color, emphasis, etc. Some of the project goals are demonstrated.
Does Not Meet Expectations

Graphics fail to convey the meaning of the project and there is a lack of understanding of the project goals by poor sizing or placement. There is no evidence of understanding of project goals.
Attractiveness

Aesthetics in terms of design choices and the application of targeted design tools.

Exceeds Expectations

The project is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, image and/or color choices, editing, etc. Project shows a clear understanding of design tools.
Meets Expectations

The project is attractive in terms of design, layout image and/or color choices. Project demonstrates an understanding of the use of design tools.
Partially Meets Expectations

The project is attractive but disorganized and does not demonstrate an understanding of design, layout, image and/or color, etc. Project fails to show an understanding of design tools.
Does Not Meet Expectations

The project is distracting, cluttered or devoid of necessary elements. Project is poorly designed and fails to demonstrate an understanding of design tools.
Relevance

How clear the project aligned with topic.

Exceeds Expectations

All graphics are related to the topic and make it easier to understand. There is a clear message, audience, and overall meaning.
Meets Expectations

All graphics are related to the topic and most make it easier to understand. Message is understandable, but the audience or overall meaning may be confusing.
Partially Meets Expectations

Some graphics relate to the topic, but some veer from the meaning. There is a lack of clear audience and overall meaning.
Does Not Meet Expectations

Graphics do not relate to the topic. There is no clear message or targeted audience. Project is confusing and irrelevant.
Effort

What it takes to finish the project, dedication and behavior in class.

Exceeds Expectations

Used time well during each class period. Focused on getting the project done and never distracted others.
Meets Expectations

Mostly used time well during each class period. Usually focused on getting the project done.
Partially Meets Expectations

Used some time well. There was some focus on getting the project done but occasionally distracted others.
Does Not Meet Expectations

Did not use class time to focus on the project and often distracted others.
