Verse about 'what makes me happy... Verse about 'someone special'... Students will create a song verse (four lines) about what makes them happy. The verse will rhyme (in some way). Four lines complete	Poor The student followed few or no directions, and wrote wrong information about things that make them happy.	Fair The student followed most directions.	Good The student followed all directions but lacked creativity.	Excellent The student followed all directions, and wrote 4 lines with insightful terms.
Words spelled correctly	Poor Many of the words were spelled incorrectly.	Fair Some words were spelled correctly.	Good Most words were spelled correctly.	Excellent All words were spelled correctly.
Rhyming	Poor No rhyming at all. Concept not understood.	Fair Rhymes are a bit of a stretch, giving the distinct impression that more work is needed.	Good	Excellent Pleasing, easy-to-understand rhymes. They do NOT have to be 'perfect' - they just have to work!
