Skills Lab Rubric 
Students are required to perform paramedic skills with 100 % proficiency. In addition to skills performance of skills, students must use critical thinking skills to include indirect care measures:safety, infection control, comfort measures, patient's rights.

Did not complete the primary survey. Confused with the clinical scenario, assessment was not organized and key elements were missed.
Patient Management/Rationale

Manages all aspects of the patient's condition and anticipated further needs.

Advanced

Managed all aspects of the patient's condition and anticipated further needs with completion of the reassessment and interventions.
Proficient

Appropriately managed the patient's current condition but is unable to provide rationale in implementing changing in interventions.
Adequate

Performed an incomplete or disorganized management by not providing all of the components for ongoing management of the patient.
Inadequate

Did not manage life-threatening conditions. and had difficulty in continuing ongoing management of the patient.
Interpersonal relations

Established rapport and interacted in an organized, therapeutic manner.

Advanced

Establish a good rapport and interact with patient, family or bystanders in an organized manner`
Proficient

Interacted and responded appropriately with patient, crew, and bystanders but evaluator had to give small prompts.
Adequate

Used appropriate communication techniques but did not ask questions regarding patient's current condition, allergies, or medications taken.
Inadequate

Demonstrated intolerance for patient, bystanders, crew, and/or family. Did not attempt to actively involve family, bystanders, or first responders.
Integration/Verbal Report

State correct field impression w/ accurate verbal report.

Advanced

Accurate with field diagnoses, accurate and clear verbal report, considered alternative transport destinations including, dosages, medications administered, time, and patient's reaction to treatments.
Proficient

Stated correct field impression, provided succinct and accurate verbal report, and appropriately stated transport decision, however, evaluator has to extract information such as, dosage and time.
Adequate

Stated correct field impression, did not provide appropriate verbal report or transport decision, such as allergies, and/or medication administration.
Inadequate

Stated incorrect field impression or did not provide verbal report. Does not ensure any continuation of care or treatment.
