- Content is incomplete.
- Major points are not clear and /or persuasive.
-Essay does not follow established organizational guidelines.






0-34 points

-The introduction and thesis statement create interest and are fairly well developed. Not very engaging.
- Content is not comprehensive and /or persuasive.
- Major points are addressed, but not well supported and/or developed.
- Content is inconsistent with regard to purpose and clarity of thought.
-Essay follows some established organizational guidelines.

35-39 points

- Very well developed introduction and thesis statement. They engage the reader and create interest.
- Content is comprehensive, accurate, and persuasive.
- Major points are stated clearly and are well supported.
- Content and purpose of the writing are clear.
-Essay follows established organizational guidelines.

40-60 points
