Spanish Song Translation Rubric 
Students must translate a (school appropriate) song sung in Spanish to English. The song must be a Spanish song.

Content

Students will bring a copy of the original song lyrics and play the song in Spanish. The students will then include a full translation of the lyrics which may be found online or also with the help of an online translator.

Poor

The translation does not explain the original author's main points, but only some of them. Many ideas are left out.

The translation does explain all the points the original author makes, but is incomplete or confusing.
Good

The translation hits all major points the original author makes. The translation completely renders every idea and does not leave anything out.
Presentation

Students will share the spanish lyrics and the audio of the song. Students will then go through the English translation for their chosen song with the class.

Poor

Sloppy handwriting or cross outs are used. The presentation looks rushed with many mistakes. If it is fully typed there are a lot of errors.
