Creativity	Exceeds Standards Writing is extremely creative. Ideas and style is refreshing and imaginative. Talented writing.	Meets Standards Writing is somewhat creative. Some new and imaginative ideas. Good writing.	Almost Meets Standards Writing contains a few creative ideas but style is mostly uninspired.	Does Not Meet Standards Writing contains many cliche ideas and an uninspired style.
Word Choice	Exceeds Standards Strong, vivid words and descriptions throughout. Words are above average, and used appropriately throughout the work.	Meets Standards Strong words and descriptions throughout. Many words are above average and used appropriately throughout the work.	Almost Meets Standards Some strong words and descriptions. Some above average word choices however, many words are used inappropriately.	Does Not Meet Standards Poor word choice and descriptions throughout. Elementary word choices and many words misused.
Fluidity	Exceeds Standards There is a strong rhythm and flow of language. Sentence structure is varied through out piece.	Meets Standards There is a rhythm and flow of language. Word Count 100 Words Max.	Exceeds Standards Word count is within the maximum range-100 words or less.	Meets Standards Word count is within 2 words of the maximum range.	Almost Meets Standards Word Count is within 5 words of the maximum range.	Does Not Meet Standards Word count is more than five words over the maximum and is disqualified due to this fact-no matter how much we love the story.
