Video Review Summary

This rubric is for Personal Finance at the Bauer College of Business at University of Houston. Each week, students are required to watch a series of short videos that correspond with the text book and topic for the week. In order to earn full credit for "Class Participation", students must complete a brief summary of the weekly videos presented by Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze.

Introduction The introduction sets the table for the article and lets the reader know you've thought about what you want to say.	Poor Introduction was generic or missing altogether. Failed to introduce the article in a personal way.	Fair Used very little personal information to introduce the article. Your introduction didn't tell me what, why, or how you will use the information you learned in reviewing these videos.	Good Good use of personal story or personal information to make me believe that the topic was relevant and that you either agreed or disagreed with the main points.	Excellent Excellent use of personal story. Captured my imagination left me touched, moved, and inspired to read every word.
Content and Organization The assignment requires 800-1000 words. Organization takes time and earns extra credit.	Poor Failed to include 800-1000 words. Too short. Not sure you actually watched each of the videos. Content was not well organized.	Fair Correct amount of content. Article lacked good organization. The article was difficult to read/review in an efficient way.	Good Right amount of content and good organization.	Excellent Excellent content and very well organized. The article was easy to review and comprehend with little effort.
Formatting \| Presentation Your article speaks volumes about your level of professionalism.	Poor No formatting, just text. Paragraphs too long, main ideas were missing or lost in the text.	Fair The article met the minimal standard for professionalism but I wouldn't put it on my refrigerator.	Good Good formatting and professionally written.
