Rubric for Pediatric Diabetic Patient 
A 10 year old admitted to a hospital with N & V dehydration and BGL of 555. He has lost 10lbs. over the last month and exhibited increased in appetite, urination, and thirst. He was begun on an insulin drip of 4 units/hr and his blood sugar was decreased to 270. He was transferred to a Health Center. The insulin drip and IV of D5NS with 20meq of KCL running at 100cc/hr were maintained during transport. No previous hospitalizations, immunizations are up-to-date (Kansas Board of Nursing, n.d.).
