Simple Machines: A Science Project Students will work with a partner to build a compound machine of their own. The students will identify a task that the simple machine will complete and must include at least 6 simple machines (no more than 2 of the same lever class).

Simple Machine Planning 20 % Ideas are clearly shown with all preparations for the simple machine.	Poor Students did not include preparations for the simple machine. There is no proof of the students beginning ideas. No design and/or materials list	Good/Very Good Students included some preparations for the simple machine. Ideas not clear and few shown. Design and materials list incomplete or not accurate regarding final machine.	Excellent Students included many sources of preparation for the simple machine. Beginning ideas will represented and clear. Design and materials list complete and accurate with final machine.
Simple Machine 25 % Simple machine should work properly.	Poor Machine does not work properly.	Good/Very Good Machine works but not to the fullest of its ability. Has some small issues.	Excellent Machine works properly and to its fullest ability.
