Group Work	Poor Students argued and did not take turns. Many off task.	Fair Students took turns but were not working in a friendly manner. Those who were not playing were disruptive to the group.	Good Everyone took turns and worked cooperatively to write the song. Those who were not playing were listening politely.	Excellent Everyone took turns, worked cooperatively and gave positive suggestions and compliments while working. Students helped each other by pointing to the worksheet, tapping the beat and focusing when it was their turn.
Rhythm	Poor Three or four of the phrases were played incorrectly and the beat was unsteady.	Fair One or two of the phrases were played incorrectly and the beat was unsteady.	Good Each phrase was played correctly but the dotted half and half note was not held long enough. There was a steady beat.	Excellent Each phrase was played rhythmically correct. There was a steady beat and the dotted half note and half note was held for the proper time.
Melody	Poor The melody was difficult to sing or to remember how to play and it did not end on C.	Fair The melody was difficult to sing or to remember how to play. It ended on C.	Good The melody had a pleasing sound, was a little tricky to sing and ended on C.	Excellent The melody had a pleasing sound, was easy to sing and ended on C.
