Brainstorm

Students should start with a brainstorm of 10 things they like (to do, be involved in, etc.) Then they should categorize them into particular industries. They choose 5 industries and brainstorm 5 companies affiliated in each industry. Students should justify their choices and be able to describe their criteria for selection.

Student has less than 10 companies included in their final brainstorm.
Fair

Student has 11-19 companies included in their final brainstorm.
Good

Student has 20+ companies included in their final brainstorm.
Company Information

Students should use Yahoo Finance, investorguide.com and Google Finance or wallstreetsurvivor.com to research the 25 companies in their brainstorm. Students need to describe why those companies they chose meet the criteria they selected

Student completed less than 5 researched companies.

Students completed 6-12 researched companies.

Students completed 13 + researched companies.

Students must define using financial analysis tools, why they chose to invest in the stocks you invested in.
