Cake Decorating Cake Decorating Students will frost a given cake. Students will ice cake smooth, decorate the cake with two borders and a minimum 3 flowers. Cake must be compleated in one hour. When done your work area and everything used must be cleaned and put away in its proper place. 	Excellent 20 pts	Good 15 pts	Needs Improvement 10 pts
Overall Appearance	Excellent Appropriate size and shape for the best quality of design. Attention to detail.	Good Appropriate size, but quality of design could be enhanced. Cake looks ordinary.	Needs Improvement Size and shape are not appropriate, and quality of design needs improvement. Little attention to planning.
Icing	Excellent Spread evenly. Smoothly finished. No signs of crumbs.	Good Spread evenly. Signs of some crumbs.	Needs Improvement Uneven icing. Signs of crumbs. Icing does not fully cover cake.
Boarders	Excellent Top and bottom boarder are well balanced and consistent throughout. sized appropriately for the cake.	Good Well balanced, but uneven Boarder size. Cake board was not kept clean.	Needs Improvement Uneven boarder shape. A bit careless in the craftsmanship.
Roses	Excellent Pleasing placement of roses. Rose structured well and nicely placed leafs.	Good Inappropriate size of roses (to large or small) Formation could have been better.	Needs Improvement Placement and structure of roses are not well placed or formed.
Sanitation	Excellent Work area was kept clean before during and after the cake was being predicted.	Good Work area was cleaned somewhat during the production but not through out.	Needs Improvement Cleaning was not done while producing the cake.
