Composer PowerPoint Presentation Rubric

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your PowerPoint have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Topic is discussed clearly and in an organized manner.	Good All required slides with relevant information. Topic is somewhat discussed but more information is required.	Fair Presentation only has 4-5 slides. Topic is slightly discussed but more material is needed.	Poor Many slides missing or less slides OR slides do not contain relevant information. Topic is addressed but not discussed or elaborated on. There is no reference page.
Presentation/Graphics	Excellent Slides are attractive. Text is easy to read. Each slide contains graphics and links to both musical selections is used appropriately and work.	Good Slides are attractive. Text is easy to read. Most slides use graphics and 1 of the two musical selections is used appropriately and work.	Fair Slides are easy to read. Amount of text is too great for the amount of space provided. Less than half the slides have graphics or no links to musical sections provided.	Poor The slides are not easy to read. The amount of text is too great for the space provided. There is little use of graphics or links to musical selections.
Grammar and Mechanics	Excellent Capitalization and punctuation are correct throughout the presentation. There are no grammatical errors.	Good There are less than 2 grammatical errors on the presentation.	Fair There are less than 4 grammatical errors on the presentation.	Poor There are many grammar or mechanical errors on the presentation.
Voice	Excellent Speaker presents in a loud, clear voice and does not read from screen.	Good Speaker presents in a loud, clear voice but turns to the screen occasionally.	Fair Speakers presents in a voice that is sometimes clear but constantly refers to the presentation.	Poor Speaker does not present in a loud or clear voice and reads simply from the presentation.
Use of Class Time	Excellent Used time well during the class period. Focused on getting the project done. Never distracted others. Finished presentation within 2-3 minutes.	Good Used time well during the class period. Usually focused on getting the project done and never distracted others. Finished presentation within 1-2 minutes.	Fair Used some of the class time well during the class period. There was some focus on getting the project done but occasionally distracted others. Either finished the presentation under 1 minute or over 3 minutes.	Poor Did not use class time to focus on project OR distracted others. Reminders were given. Finished the presentation 1 minute or did not present.
Presentation Notes This will show as a separate grade in Gradespeed.	Excellent Student turn in presentation notes for all presentations in your class period.
