Purpose and Originality	Exceeds expectations Poems is creative and original. It is evident that the poet put thought into their words and innovatively conveyed their ideas and emotions.	Meets Expectations Poem is thoughtful and creative. A couple of phrases or ideas may be revisited, but the overall product is carefully written.	Approaches Expections The poem is creative, but appears to be rushed.	Begining to Meet Expectations Poem appears to be thoughtless or rushed. Work is very repetitive and ideas are impersonal or unoriginal.
Form	Exceeds expectations Poem is complete and follows its intended form. The poem or poems has/have a total of thirty lines or more.	Meets Expectations Poem is mostly written in the proper form. The poem or poems total has/have 25-29 lines.	Approaches Expections Poem is somewhat written in the proper form. The poem or poems has/have a total of 20-24 lines.	Begining to Meet Expectations Poem is not written in the proper form. The poem(s) have fewer than 20 lines
Grammar	Exceeds expectations Proper use of modern English spelling and grammar is employed consistently throughout the poem.
