Quality of arguments	Poor Arguments not persuasive because of lack of evidence or preparation.	Fair Arguments were sometimes persuasive. They were generally vague and supported by minimal evidence and logic. May have been mostly emotional.	Good Arguments were usually persuasive and backed by evidence or example. May have been vague at times. Used a mix of emotional and logical arguments.	Very Good Arguments were always persuasive and specific and backed by evidence or example. Used a mix of emotional and logical arguments
Restatement/Counterargument	Poor Did not rephrase opponent argument accurately at all; counterargument not at all connected to opponent arguments.	Fair Attempted to restate opponent argument; gave counterargument, but relation to oppponent argument somewhat unclear.
