Colour Wheel Rubric Colour Wheel Rubric After a review of the colour wheel by the teacher, the student will create a unique colour wheel on paper. The student will correctly mix and paint, colour, or pastel the correct primary, secondary, and tertiary colours on the colour wheel in the correct position. Layout Understanding and Execution	Level 4 The colour wheel is exceptionally drawn using a stencil shape with the correct number of spaces for the colours.	Level 3 The colour wheel is well drawn and represents an stencil shape with the correct number of spaces for the colours.	Level 2 The colour wheel is drawn in an stencil shape, but does not follow the directions given for the colours.	Level 1 The colour wheel is poorly drawn and does not follow the instructions given for the colours.
Primary Colors and Secondary Colors Tertiary colours have been added for grade 7.	Level 4 Primary and secondary colours have been exceptionally well-organized and painted in their correct space. All colours have been mixed exceptionally well and are true to their hue.	Level 3 Primary and secondary colours have been organized and painted in the correct order. Colours have been mixed adequately according to their hue.	Level 2 Primary and secondary colours have been painted, but not organized on the colour wheel. Colours have been mixed, but are not true to their hue.	Level 1 Some primary and secondary colours have been painted, but not in the correct place on the color wheel. Colours have not been mixed correctly.
Craftmanship	Level 4 Colours have been exceptionally well-organized and cleanly painted on the colour wheel, according to instructions given.	Level 3 Colours have been well-organized and cleanly painted on the colour wheel, according to instructions given.	Level 2 Colours have been somewhat well-organized and cleanly painted on the colour wheel, according to instructions given.	Level 1 Colours have been placed on the colour wheel, but craftsmanship needs improvement.
Use of the colour wheel Student will use the colour wheel to recreate the colours in a provided image.	Level 4 Colours have been exceptionally mixed and very closely match the colours in the image.	Level 3 Colours have been well mixed and closely match the colours in the image.	Level 2 Colours have been somewhat well mixed and are the same hue as the colours in the image.	Level 1 Colours are from the colour wheel, but do not relate to the image.
