Assessment of Classroom Instruction Each student will implement an instructional lesson plan unit for one content area integrating various technologies into each segment.

Voice pts Speakers rate, tone and clarity are adequate	Beginning __Speaks too quickly, monotone, and mumbles through the lecture	Progressing __Can be heard, but still moves too rapidly, little voice variation, and can clear some consonant and vowel sounds	Capable __Rate, tone and clarity are adequate, but could still use improvement	Advanced __Rate, tone, and clarity are exceptional. The speaker is pleasant to listen too.
Hook Activity pts Hook activity apparent, connects to the students and materials.	Beginning __No Hook Activity	Progressing __Hook activity apparent but does not connect to the material and students	Capable __Hook activity apparent but lacks a connection to bothe the students and the material. Introduction pts Explains the topic of the presentation, explains how it will be presented, and follows the lesson plan.	Beginning __Does not attempt to inform the audience about the topic of the presentation.	Progressing __Attempts to inform the audience on the topic, but the explanation is unclear or fails to give an outline/overview of what is to be presented.	Capable __Informs the audience about the topic of the presentation, gives an overview an outline but fails to follow the lesson plan.	Advanced __Explains the topic of the presentation, explains how it will be presented, and follows the lesson plan.
Questioning pts Questions stimulate and lead to discussion. Appropriate and placed will within the lecture.	Beginning __Has no questions	Progressing __Has a question but it does not pretain to the subject.	Capable __Has a question that pretains to the topic but is not placed appropriately with in the lecture.	Advanced __Questions lead and stimulate discussion and are appropreiate and placed will within the lecture.
Interactions pts Good eye contact, voice inflections, Walks around , personal direction to students	Beginning __No interaction	Progressing __Minimal eye contact, stands in one place, Hides behind the desk.	Capable __Adequate eye contact. Moves around. Directs questions.	Advanced __Good eye contact. Voice inflections. Walks around. Personal attention to students.
Preparation pts Has prepared a presentation and practiced in making a presentation. Is not hesitant in delevery and answers all questions or researches and presents responses to unanswered questions.	Beginning __Has prepared a presentation but is clearly not familiar with the contens or has not practiced making a presentation.	Progressing __Has prepared a presentation but is hesitant and somewhat unfamiliar with the content.	Capable __Delivers the basic information smoothly but is unable to answer some of the basic questions that the audience must ask.	Advanced __Answers all questions that must be asked by the audience or __Researches and later presents responses to unanswered questions.
Resources pts Uses handouts, overhead, powerpoint, handouts, internet, book, poster etc. and refers to them often. The visual aids are relevant and flow with the lecture content. Uses two or more audio-visual(AV) resources	Beginning __No audio-visual aids(AV)	Progressing __Uses one form of AV resources but must have technical assistance.	Capable __Uses one form of AV resources without assisstance, or two forms but must have assistance.	Advanced __Uses two or more types of AV resources without assistance
Length of Lecture pts An "enchanced" lecture at least 30 minutes in length. This may include a lecture with: periodic pauses, feedback etc. and use of CAT's. for formative evaluation.	Beginning __Presentation 30 minutes or less. No break or use of formative evaluation.	Progressing __Presentation 30 minutes. Used one CAT with the students. Response of students was adequate.	Capable __Presentation lasted 30minutes. Used one CAT which engaged the students in participation. Time allowed for audience questions	Advanced __Presentation lasted 30 minutes. Two or more CAT's used. Excellent student participation and feedback. Time allowed for audience questions and answers.
Mechanics pts Presentation has no misspedlings or grammaticial errors. The audio-visual aids are clear and concise for audience viewing	Beginning __Presentation has four or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.	Progressing __Presentation has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Capable __Presentation has two or less misspelling and/or grammatical errors.	Advanced __Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors.
Interest Level pts Audience is actively particpating, taking notes and asking questions.	Beginning __Audience is extremely bored, sleeping, drooling and snoring.	Progressing __Paying attention but doodling or other activies to keep occupied and awake.	Capable __Show interest but are not actively participating.	Advanced __Actively participating, asking questions and taking notes.
