Endangered Species Endangered Species This presentation explores a common environmental concern: species that are in trouble. The trouble stems from the species either being near extinction (“endangered” or “threatened” or “a keystone species”) or out of place (“invasive species” or “non-native species”). Chose one species that falls into one of those categories as a focus of this report. Ecology	Excellent Describes 1. the species and how it interacts with its habitat 2. niche and tropic levels are completely described 3. describes BEFORE it was in trouble 4. discusses changes to past ecological pressures 5. how it is troubled (endemic or extinction).	Good Is missing one of the main five points or the point is not adequately discussed.	Fair Is missing two of the main five points or the point is not adequately discussed.	Poor Is missing three of the main five points or the point is not adequately discussed.	Very Poor Is missing four of the main five points or the point is not adequately discussed.
Problem	Excellent Discusses 1. How the species is in trouble 2. What was/is the cause 3. History 4. Species characteristics that contribute to the problem.	Good Is missing one of the main four points or the point is not adequately discussed.	Fair Is missing two of the main four points or the point is not adequately discussed.	Poor Is missing three of the main four points or the point is not adequately discussed.	Very Poor Mentioned a problem but there was no discussion or explanation.
Solutions	Excellent Discusses 1. How the problem can be solved 2. Are any of the solutions liable to solve the problem in your opinion 3. Which is the "best?"	Good Is missing one of the main three points or the point is not adequately discussed or justified (why or why not?)	Fair Is missing two of the main three points or the point is not adequately discussed or justified (why or why not?)	Poor Briefly mentioned solutions but all three main points were discussed briefly.	Very Poor Mentioned a solution but there was no discussion or explanation.
