Football Students apply strategies for working cooperatively and apply rules fairly. They refine fundamental movement skills and apply movement concepts and strategies in a variety of physical activities and to solve movement challenges. They create and perform movement sequences using fundamental movement skills and the elements of movement.

Rules of the Game Demonstrates competency of rules.	Developing Student does not know what the rules of the game are after completing the football unit. Unsure of terms relating to rules.	Basic Student has some fair knowledge of the rules. Student knows the basic, most important rules of the game.	Proficient Student knows most of the rules and is able to apply or make calls during game play.	Exemplary Student knows almost all the rules. Can help teach others that don't know all the rules.
Passing Demonstrates understanding of passing strategies.	Developing Student rarely tries and consistently fails throughout the unit to correctly learn how to pass the ball.	Basic Student can perform skill with consistency in a non game situation and with no defenders present and sometimes in a modified game situation.	Proficient Student passes the ball correctly most of the time in a modified game situation. The student uses the correct passing technique.	Exemplary Student passes the ball with proficiency. Able to pass to stationary and moving targets during game play.
Catching Exhibits skill to catch a pass throw while stationary and moving.	Developing Student rarely tries and consistently fails throughout the unit to correctly learn how to catch the ball.	Basic Student can perform skill with consistency in a non game situation and with no defenders present and sometimes in a modified game situation.	Proficient Student can perform the skill in a game situation when left unguarded and sometimes when guarded.	Exemplary Student can combine catching with movement to avoid a defender.
