Usually accurately made observations concerning the content of the text and how he/she experienced the content; and the student engaged the text while reading and making observations; and the student made basic observations.
Fair

Often accurately made observations concerning the content of the text and how he/she experienced the content; and the student engaged the text most of the time while reading and making observations; and the student made some fair observations.
Poor

Sometimes accurately made observations concerning the content of the text and how he/she experienced the content; and/or the student barely engaged the text while reading and making observations; and/or the student made poor observations.
Unacceptable

Inaccurate observations; and/or the student did not engage the text while reading and/or making observations; and/or observations were poor or nonexistent.
