Ideas are sequenced and logical so that the content is easy to understand. Student is clear, concise and only addreses the assigned task. Material is well organized. Few or no spelling, punctuation or mechanics errors. Writes legibly.
Requirements

Unsatisfactory

The writer does not meet any of the requirements for the project. The paragraphs are not 4-5 sentences and does not meet the 2 page criteria.
Minimal

The writer struggles to meet the requires for the project.
Proficient

The writer meets the requirements for the paper, but is missing a sentence or two in one of the paragraphs.
Exemplary

The writer exceeds expectations, putting thought into the paper and expanding on their ideas in order to meet the 2 page requirement with at least 4-5 sentences per paragraph.
Classtime

Unsatisfactory

Student did not use class time effectively. They played games, distracted other students, and did not follow class rules.
Minimal

Student did not follow class participation rules and rarely worked on the essay during class.
Proficient

The student was somewhat focused during class time, but still distracted other students from writing.
Exemplary

The students used their class time effectively in order to complete the essay. Research and writing was all completed during the 3 days of classwork.
