Web Tool Evaluation This rubric is used to evaluate a free, web-based tool for use in the classroom. The web tool is for use to help reinforce a concept. Rubric Code: QXAA7CB By msmkennedy Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Arts and Design Type: Homework Grade Levels: 6-8

Ease of Use	Poor Difficult to use. Directions not on site. Teacher must guide students through site, step-by-step.	Fair Some aspects of the tool are easy to understand. Key aspects of the tool are difficult to understand or find.	Good Most aspects of the tool are easy to understand and find. Teacher may need to explain how parts of tool work.	Excellent Easy to use. Tools are easily found. Students can use the site quickly through experimentation. Directions are on the site. Student needs minimal explanation.
Applies to Curriculum	Poor Only sections of tool apply to curriculum. Is either too simple or too advanced for grade level.	Fair Somewhat matches task for curriculum. Needs a lot of teacher input to match.	Good Matches the curriculum task. Might offer extensions for further exploration of task. is close to grade level appropriate. Distractors	Poor Lots of distractions. Scrolling banner ads, pop up videos, bright flashing colors that distract student from task.	Fair Multiple ads on page. Small and off to side.
