Hand Position

Poor

only uses one hand, or holds stick at top with hands close togeter.

2 hands on stick but not in proper position. Very awkward strike. May miss the puck.
Good

Has one hand midway on stick with other near the top of the stick. "hand shake" grip. The student keeps good eye contact with with the puck while striking.
Feet position

Poor

Feet close togeter.
Has one foot in front of other. May be standing on one foot. Student may fall down or stumble in the process.
Fair

Has feet shoulder width, but does not shift weight when striking.
Good

Has feet shoulder width apart. Shifts weight from one foot to the other when striking the puck. Generates speed from quick hip rotation.
Striking

Poor

Brings stick up really high and swings above knees at finish. Or Starts at ankle height. Often does not make contact with puck. Puck often does not travel in a forward spinning disc like motion with little velocity.
Fair

Brings stick just below waist but ends below the ankles. Makes contact with the puck most of the time. Puck sometimes travels in a spinning disc motion with velocity
Good

Bring stick back just below waist and ends swing between knees and waist. Always makes contact with the puck. Puck travels in a spinning disc motion with velocity.
