Recycling Project
Recycling Art Project
Students will use the materials recycled to create her/his figure/representation of a house. Give a written description explaining step by step of how it was built, include 1. What items were used? 2. How did you create you house? 3. How long did it take you to make it? Extra points if the house is representative of the Native Americans. Students will present their projects to the class.

Student put in adequate time and effort at home.
DEVELOPING
Student did do some work at home, but could have used class time more wisely.
POOR
Student put in no additional effort and did not use class time to do much work.
PLANNING
ADVANCED
Student describes the design in writing (step by step).
PROFICIENT
Student has somewhat described in a step by step written description of how she/he reach the final design of the house.
DEVELOPING
Student can describe how she/he designed the final product but did not include a written step by step description of the design.
POOR
Student has thought very little about the project. It is not at all the design of a house.
Grammar/spelling
ADVANCED
Written step by step description has no grammatical or spelling errors. She/he explains the process thoroughly. Answers all 3 of the questions required.
PROFICIENT
Paragraph has 3-5 or more grammatical or spelling errors. Explains most of the process and answers at least 2 of the questions required.
DEVELOPING
Paragraph has more then 5 grammatical/spelling errors. Somewhat explains the process and answers only 1 of the questions required.
POOR
No written description included and student can not explain the process thoroughly nor answer the questions required.
CREATIVITY
ADVANCED
Student has applied creativity in a way that is totally his/her own.
PROFICIENT
Student has taken some steps to apply creativity to the materials used as a starting place.
DEVELOPING
There is little evidence of creativity, but the student has done the assignment.
POOR
Student has not made no attempt to meet the requirements of the assignment.
PRESENTATION
ADVANCED
Student's project is finished. Student explains and can show
1. describe each part and 2. how they made it, and 3. how it could be useful.
PROFICIENT
Student's project is finished but student can not explain 2 out of 3 of the questions.
DEVELOPING
Student's project still needs work and they can explain 1 out of 3 of the questions.
POOR
Students project still needs a lot of work in order to be completed Student cannot answer any of the 3 questions.
