CHAPTER SUMMARY LOGS After each chapter, a thorough summary must be completed in the chapter summary logs. Remember that a good reader doesn't just summarize, but identifies characteristics, main ideas, and makes inferences. Worth 30 points	Outstanding N/A	Good All chapters are summarized. Summaries are informative, thorough, and explain so that the reader can understand the novel without actually reading the book. Includes identifying themes, major points in book, character roles and characterisitics, and makes inferences and/or connections with other chapters. 6-8 sentences for each summary	Fair All chapters summarized, but lack thoroughness and completeness. only 3-6 sentences for summaries. Summaries do not identify enough literature elements, make conlusions, or inferences, but reader can still manage to understand what book is all about.	Poor Not every chapter summarized, and summaries lack significant details and criteria.
