Paper Bag Book Report and Presentation

Students will read a fiction or non-fiction book and create a book report using a paper bag. They will collect the required story elements and information to the bag (typed not handwritten).

Front of Bag	Outstanding The front of the paper bag has a detailed picture of the book that you read (main idea), the title, author, and number of stars (max: 5) that you would give the book.	Good The front of the paper bag has a detailed picture of the book that you read(main idea), but is missing one of the following: the title, author, and number of stars (max: 5) that you would give the book.	Satisfactory The front of the paper bag has a detailed picture of the book that you read(main idea), but is missing two of the following: the title, author, number of pages, and number of stars (max: 5) that you would give the book.	Needs Improvement The front of the paper bag has a detailed picture of the book that you read, but is missing 3 or more of the following: the title, author, number of pages, and number of stars (max: 5) that you would give the book. Or The front of the bag is missing a detailed picture of the story's main idea.
Character Side of the bag	Outstanding The side contains main characters and setting summary. Remember to describe personality traits and the location of the story.	Good The right side has a character and setting summary that could be improved in terms of grammar, spelling, and content.	Satisfactory There are numerous mistakes and/or the character and setting summaries are poorly done.	Needs Improvement The right side does not have a setting summary and missing some main characters, as well.
Back of Bag	Outstanding Items Inside are described. Description, symbol, and why you included each one.	Good One of the following descriptions is missing: Items Inside are described. 1 Side of the bag	Outstanding A description of the disease that is in the story. Main events of what main character does to help family, town or city, countryside and are presented with the major details summary of the story.	Good A description of the disease is not very well described in the summary as the main problem and solution in the story starts to appear. The summary uses details from the story.	Satisfactory An incomplete summary that somewhat describes the main problem (disease) and solution in the story.	Needs Improvement The summary is very incomplete or missing.
Inside the Bag - Important Items	Outstanding X2 10 items are inside the bag that are related to the story in some way that is important to the plot.
