most of the time, with only a few occurrences of communication breakdown or failure to collaborate when appropriate. Members were mostly respectful of each other.

way to the project. All data
sources indicated a high

Measurement

Teams will measure the raised beds at school. Based on their measurements they will decide how it affects the plants they choose to grow. Must be in metric.

Team did not even attempt to use measurements in planning their garden design.

Team did not use accurate measurements for plant spacing.

Team considered how much space was needed to grow. However, had errors in measurement.

Teams measurements were exact. Team measured the raised beds at school. Used those measurements and plant requirements to come up with a real plan for how many plants can fit in raised beds, based on plant growing requirements.
Plant Choices

Each team will choose what plants they want in their garden design based on knowledge of pollinators and plants that will attract them to the garden.

Team did not complete this portion of the project and demonstrated little knowledge of the plant types.

Team's design was less than one page and included some knowledge of the plant types and how to care for them.
Good

Team's report was one page; demonstrated adequate knowledge of the plant types and how to care for them. Some plants did not match pollinators that are attracted to them in south Georgia.
Excellent

Team's report was one page or more; listed all of the conditions in which plant types thrive and the proper ways to take care of them. The plants were matched up to specific pollinators found in South Georgia.
Concept & Design

Each team will make a design and concept to share with the class. This should share what plants to plant where and when in their garden.

Poor

Student demonstrated knowledge of one of the four steps of planting seeds.
Fair

Concept may be unclear.
Design may not relate to the concept.
Site factors may not have been considered
Good

Concept may be clear, but not original.
Design reflects the concept.
Design is appropriate to the main features of the site.
Excellent

Concept shows extensive research into all site factors (soil, light, slope, etc.).
Well- developed, detailed design enhances the concept.
Designs are compelling and show originality, and are uniquely suited to the specific site.
