Discussion	Poor I interrupted the teacher or other students without raising my hand and topic was unrelated to the topic of discussion.	Fair I interrupted the teacher or other students, but comment was on topic.	Good I stayed focused on the speaker and I listened with my eyes, ears, mouth, and body and waited to be called upon but replies with off topic comment or answer.	Excellent I listened to teacher/peers with my eyes, ears, mouth, and body, and answered when called upon with an appropriate comment or answer.
Answers	Poor I refused to answer the question.	Fair I did not answer the question but shared off topic information.	Good I answered with concise and appropriate answer but added unnecessary/off topic comment.	Excellent I replied with a concise and appropriate answer with no additional, unrequested information.
Introducing New Topic	Poor I entered an off topic comment into unrelated discussion.	Fair I knew and stated that it is off topic and then shared off topic comment.	Good I introduced my topic after discussion of current topic was over, but when asked to wait until a more appropriate time, was not respectful of the request.	Excellent I waited until discussion was over and at an appropriate time (break time, lunch, or transition time) to introduce topic of my choice.
Topic that has Already been Discussed	Poor I mentioned a topic that has already been discussed and resolved but I did not remember it.	Fair I mentioned past topic that has already been discussed but wanted different outcome or to reestablish conversation on it.	Good I mentioned past conversation but when reminded of the resolution/outcome, I respected the request to stay on task.	Excellent I refrained from mentioning a topic that has already been discussed and closed.
