Background on the interviewee
Master
The background information was complete and summarized to be turned in. The interviewees’ background information was gathered and researched first, then placed with an event that occurred during their lifetime that they were witnessed to or lived through it. The interviewer placed all the information found about the interviewee (where they lived, what events took place around them, and what time period) into a summary report and turned it in along with the permission slip.
Proficient
The background information was complete but not summarized correctly and the permissions slip was turned in. The Summary was done with MOST of the components. Where they lived, what events took place around them, and what time period or how old the interviewee was.
Developing
The background information was incomplete and no summary or missing items in the summary were turned in.
Emerging
The background was in complete with no permission slip turned in.
Questions Written
Master
There are fifteen or more questions that were created by the interviewer and were tailored specifically with the interviewee with his/her background in mind. The questions are thought provoking and give the interviewee time to reflect and respond to your questions.
Proficient
There are less than fifteen questions that were created by the interviewer and were tailored not so specific to the interviewee with his/her background in mind. The questions are somewhat thought provoking and give the interviewee some time to reflect and respond to your questions.
Developing
There is less than ten questions that were created by the interviewer and were not tailored to the interviewee with his/her background in mind. The questions were not thought provoking and did little to give the interviewee time to reflect and give a long response to your questions.
Emerging
There less than 5 questions that were created by the interviewer and were not tailored to the interviewee with his/her background in mind. No time was given for the interviewee to reflect.
Media & Materials Used
Master
The materials and media used to record the interviewer were first tested by the interviewer to make sure they are in proper working order. The interviewer spoke clearly into the device and each question was heard and the interviewees’ response was also clearly heard on the recording. No noise interference can be heard in the background. The interview was then converted to a MP3 file and uploaded successfully to the course website.
Proficient
The materials and media used to record the interviewer were tested by the interviewer and were in proper working order. The interviewer did not speak as clearly into the device and the questions were heard by the interviewees’ who could not be heard as well due to noise interference in the background. The file was converted into an MP3 file and uploaded to the course website.
Developing
The materials and media used to record the interviewer were not properly tested by the interviewer prior to the interview. The interviewer did not speak clearly into the device and had issues with background interference and the interviewee voice was not clearly heard. The file was converted into an MP3 file and uploaded to the course website.
Emerging
Tons of materials and media issues
