Number of quality statements Writing effective comparison statements.	Excellent Student is able to make 4 or more quality comparison statements in each circle.	Fair Student is able to make 2 quality comparison statements in each circle.	Poor Student makes only 1 quality comparison statements in each circle.
Question Period Answering questions	Excellent Student answers all questions clearly and accurately. Student fully understands the differences and similarities of 3 types of poverty.	Fair Student's answers to some questions are correct and some are incorrect. Student has limited understanding of subject matter.	Poor Student's answers are vague and unclear. Student has no understanding of subject matter.
Statement Placements Utilizing the Venn Diagram Correctly	Excellent All statements noting similarities are placed in the center circle and all statements that note differences are placed in the correct outer circle.	Fair Most statements are placed in the correct circle, but student mixed up a few statements.	Poor Few statements are placed in the correct circle.
Visual Appearance	Excellent Student effectively used entire space, was neat and organized, colorful, and showed exceptional effort to be visually appealing.	Fair Project needs improvements in using the space effectively and needs more effort to be colorful, neat and/or organized. Did not show best effort to be visually appealing.	Poor Project was not organized and/or completed neatly, did not use color effectively, and may not have used the entire space given. Did not show effort to be visually appealing.
Solutions	Excellent Students gives 4 or more solutions to each of the three types of poverty.	Fair Student gives between 1 - 3 solutions to each type of poverty.	Poor Student provides no solutions for the venn diagram.
